Worst Translated Menu Ever

Yes, it’s true, we’re in deep hack.

And it looks like we’re going to stay that way for the next week or so, so updates will be light.

But let me assuage the demand (*cough*) for updates from the world of Blogamundo with a convenient reference to the world’s worst translated menu.

Oh, and as long as we’re on the subject of bad translation, here are some amusingly awful tattoos in “Japanese” . Ouch! (Found that via an old post by Joi Ito.)

Oh, that was a FUNNY one. I had just blogged it this morning (after wiping the tears of laugher off my keyboard) - I believe we’re part of a translators’ blogosphere wave of sorts!

    Heya Dena,

Yeah, it sent a fair amount of coffee spewing out my nose too, heheh.

Just added your blog Twisted Tongues to my aggregator! Good stuff. Maybe we should keep a list of translation-related blogs around here somewhere…

Thanks for adding - and yeah, a list of all linguablogs is going right to the top of my list of priorities. There appear to be enough of us out there who want to write our own stuff instead of chaneling other people’s words for pay to make it a worthwhile exercise (and anyhow, translators are the most interesting people, aren’t they?)
